INTERNATIONAL COSPLAY LEAGUE

  • Hellou Hi!  I’m Ii also known as Iinaban. I work as a scenic painter/builder and theater tech in theater and in my free time I have been breaking my back on my kitchen floor by making cosplays since 2014.

During this time I have judged competitions couple of times but mostly I have competed in craftsmanship categories which the last one was Finnish ICL preliminaries where I won the first place in Solo category and had the honour to go to Spain in september 2024 and represent Finland in the finals as a part of team Finland.

When it comes to cosplay I'm intrigued by the way we can combine hard and soft materials in the outfits. My expertise is in making props and accessories. I especially appreciate hand crafted props. As a judge I pay attention to the inventiveness of material choices and the appropriate working techniques used for the materials.

When looking at costumes, I want to see love for the art, so above all, remember to enjoy making the cosplays and be proud of your achievements.

  • We are Päivi and Satu and together we form the cosplay duo UruharaFC! We have been cosplaying since 2009 and have competed over 30 times - sometimes as a pair, sometimes individually. Over the years we have made 61 cosplay costumes and other role-playing costumes. Päivi is responsible for the patterning, material selection and sewing of the costumes. Satu styles the wigs, makes the props and plans and assembles the performances.

We have represented Finland in the 2013 World Cosplay Summit and the 2024 International Cosplay League competition. At the 2018 European Cosplay Gathering, our team won an honorable mention for the best wig in the competition. We are the 2015 Finnish Cosplay Championship team. In addition to these, Päivi has won the Nordic Cosplay Championship competition in 2014. As cosplayers, we are known for our habit of dressing up as characters from the Beyblade series exceptionally often.

    See you at Comic Con!

  • Hey, I'm Maiju / majo! I've been cosplaying for about 22 years and I've been competing and judging in cosplay competitions both in Finland and abroad. I've represented Finland in EuroCosplay, World Cosplay Summit and ECG.

Saying that I love making props is probably one of my trademarks (because I really love making them), in addition to being a self-proclaimed sanding enthusiast. I am also in my happy place whenever I get to paint, be it either props or fabric, and I love seeing different and innovative painting techniques on costumes.

Things that I most enjoy in cosplay currently are slow crafting with no deadlines, learning new painting techniques and brushing up on my skills in 3D-modeling and 3D-printing.

Enjoy the competition and have fun on stage!

Solo category

  • Hi everyone!

I’m Emilia, also known as AG, and I'm one of the judges for the Finnish Cosplay Championship solo category. You can find me as ag_aagee on most social media platforms, with Instagram being my playground of choice.

My journey with cosplay began in 2005 when I was just 15. Now, at 34, I am just as passionate about cosplay as I was when I started. Over the years, I have competed a handful of times and had the honour of representing Finland in the NCC finals in 2024 and the ECG finals in 2016.

As a cosplayer, I’m a meticulous creator who loves to learn new things and refine her skills. When it comes to crafting, I enjoy every aspect, including pattern making, dyeing materials, leatherwork, 3D modelling, and wig making. Recently, I have developed an interest in learning couture sewing techniques that can elevate the value of a costume through enchanting craftsmanship. As a performer, I want to tell stories that captivate the viewers and make them forget everything else just for a moment.

I look forward to hearing from the contestants about creating their costumes and seeing all the details up close. I also can't wait to see the performances!

I wish everyone lots of luck in preparing for the competition!

  • Hello, Faroni here!

I have been cosplaying since 2014 and have met many talented and warm-hearted cosplayers from all over the world. I was chosen as the Finnish Cosplay Champion in 2022 and the winner of the Nordic Cosplay Championship (NCC) competition in 2023. When it comes to cosplay, I always try to challenge myself and would like to consider myself a "cosplay chameleon". I try to make my costumes using different materials and techniques. In addition to making costumes, I have always enjoyed makeup and creating performances, which are very dear parts of cosplay to me.

    Greetings to the competitors:

Be proud of your creation, have fun on stage and remember to celebrate your own performance after the competition, regardless of your placement! We know that the competition culminates in a huge amount of work of many hours, days, weeks and months, and completing it is definitely an achievement worth celebrating.

Good luck with your final efforts!

  • I started my journey with cosplay in 2006. I craft costumes at a very moderate pace. I see projects more as marathons than speedraces. I carefully choose materials, required techniques and I love to use the history of costume when making interpretations on structures and fabric choices.

I've competed in international competitions and my best achievement was when I placed first in European Cosplay Gathering in 2017.

I wish for an inspiring and rewarding experience for all the contestants!

  • I'm jesmo/MerryAllNighter and I've been a cosplayer since 2008. I have been a contestant and a judge in several events both in Finland and abroad over the years.

In 2023 I won the Finnish Cosplay Championship and went to represent to both the NCC in Sweden and the Europa Cosplay Cup in France. Earlier I've also represented Finland in Eurocosplay and World Cosplay Summit. In costumes I love playing with textures and materials, and I also look for a clean finish in details. In performances I pay special attention to the story and atmosphere, and appreciate a well edited result.

I'm excited to see who'll be going as our representatives this year, especially to Cosvision's newest addition E2C!
